Jim Morris Successfully Obtains Judgment from Texas Supreme Court

Jim Morris, along with co-counsel Joe Knight (formerly of Baker Botts), successfully obtained a judgment from the Texas Supreme Court affirming the tax exempt status for real and personal property owned by a student housing authority established under the Texas Education Code. The Supreme Court judgment, which was rendered in Case No. 13-0593 entitled Texas Student Housing Authority v. Brazos County Appraisal District and Appraisal Review Board for Brazos County Appraisal District, reversed the holdings of the trial court and court of appeals in favor of the taxing authorities.
